Here are my 2 American made Strats. The white one is Gilmourized with EMG single coils, EMG SPC & EXG in the tone knob areas. i didn't Gilmourize to sound like him. I just read what he had and it sounded like a good idea for a Mod. It is signifigantly brighter than the black one but sounds incredible through my Marshall. Amazing actually. Takes the Big Muff pedal really well.

The black one is my main guitar. Stock neck/mid p'up's. Duncan JB Jr in the bridge. She is my baby

I also have an early 80's Japanese "Fat" Strat that I have an affection for and a Taylor acoustic. I'm currently building a sweet Telecaster as well.
And here is me rocking out with the black baby in my band. (i dunno who the dancing santa looking dude is.. lol)

if the white one sounds so cool why dont you use that? I like the idea of the tone knobs doing more that just adjusting tone, do the mods make much difference to the typical strat sound?

I use both. They both sound cool, just different from each other.

I can never remember which specific knob does what, but the first tone knob on mine brings up the mids. great for solo's or parts you wnat to stand out. the other one pretty mich does the opposite. Blends you in

just a question for anyone who has the DG-20s... considering the modified tone knobs boost highs and lows or the mids etc, what setting do you have you amp EQ set to? is it just all even so the tone control is totally with the guitar?

Nope. I set up the amp with the guitar EQ thingies all the way down. That way, you can just boost as you need from the guitar. The mid boost is great for solos or anything you want to have prominant over the band.

I rarely use the bass/treble boost. It pretty much stays at 0, unless I'm playing the beginning of "Sorrow" for some reason

so you pretty much have the sound set up using the amp then change the tone knobs on the guitar as you need boosting etc? thanks for the advice, i just installed mine, but just getting the hang of them :)

I agree too a point. Of course it all comes down to opinion and not fact.

All 3 ripped/ripping off blues. It's not really a matter of dave ripping off the other 2. All 3 had VERY different approaches to the same thing. Clapton, Page, Beck and countless others as well.

Gilmour has a way of choosing the right notes 100% of the time. He is very structured note-wise, but loose playing. He has an amazing style that is all his own. Knopfler is a tad more loose all around and has a unique sound due to his fingerpicking style. Holly was very loose but not as proficient.

I prefer Gilmours tone over the three. I also enjoy his solos a bit more. Especially on some of the older boots where he improvs a bit more. I wish he'd start improving again a bit more.

Jeff Beck is the only one of the above mentioned that I'd put above Gilmour as far as my personal preference of style, sound and note choice. The man is amazing. Plus his work on Amused to Death is just impeccable.
