Doesn't everyone? And I for one thank God Roger Waters kept his cloths on during the interview. :D

I can see where Waters is coming from here.
I`ve always found Coldplay very "Emperor`s New Clothes"-y.
I love Radiohead, however.

Waters: If I had some influence that gave people permission to be serious about what they did, to express their inner feelings and not give a **** about what anyone thought, to go for it in a passionate way that exposed their weaknesses as well as their strengths, then I couldn't be happier. Because so much rock and roll is posturing bollocks. You know, poodle rock, all that hair and tight trousers. I never had time for that crap. It's just bollocks.
Haha, great answer, Rog. :D
Actually, I HATE that answer!

But then, the question itself is as dumb as all get-out, since Coldplay (which IS posturing) does not deserve mention in the same breath as Radiohead.

But then, I have long found Roger's taste in current music to be as out-of-touch as my dad's, and I've learned to just accept that disappointment and still appreciate Roger's great work, especially 1970-1980.

I suppose when Thom Yorke is 60 years old, he'll be saying stupid things too. And so will I.
I think "all that hair and tight trousers" IS bull sh**, like he said! I mean, when you compare Coldplay to, say, Blink 182, which band do think cares more about music quality?
But I agree that Coldplay isn't anywhere near the same caliber as Radiohead.

I really wish Radiohead could have performed at Live 8. I think Roger would have been impressed hearing the 'Pyramid Song' live!

I couldn't agree with him more on that second question.

Poodle hairdo's & tight trousers, funny stuff. I agree & don't agree. The girls in the 80's loved bands like Poison & such, & many of the hair bands were fads, but some weren't. Van Halen? Whiteshake is not my favorite band, but "here I go again on my own" actually wasn't a bad song. So it kinda depends on the hair band in question. Hair & tight trousers are not measuring yardsticks of good rock I guess is what I'm tryig to say.

To sum up, some bands with big hair & tight trousers were quite good, & some weren't. Heck Deep Purple had big hair & tight trousers.
