i know that most fenders have maple necks, but I thik Squires have some sort of "poly-wood" made from scraps. Probably maple seeing as Fender use mostly maple for necks. Plus I think the truss rods are better in Fenders than Squires, thicker and stronger.

On the neck on the squier strats, what neck is that closest to on a Fender strat? I have a SG standard, it feels good, just not at the 15th fret.

No bones missing, very upright position, preferably containing a windpipe. That's all really. :Oo:

There are different shape necks on the squires,Old school fat and clubby c shape, newer school d shape like an ibanez, and some that morph the two. As always, play it first.

I won't say all, but I've not played a squire neck that was made of scraps. Some are definitely higher quality than others,

A good neck needs no truss rod.

Theres also a speed issue. Some necks will be rougher and harder to slide, which some people prefer so they dont slip. I prefer faster necks for my solos, and i do alot of sliding effects. id always go with mahogony w/ rosewood fretboard.

Youre one of a kind. Just like everybody else.

HB in the bridge, For a start I'm using an old dimarzio norton, 11.5k--may change it out later.
S/S, no covers- 62 re issues about 5.6k

I got the idea from seeing Fast Eddie Clarke's Strat from the Motorhead days.

Based on Dave's Black Strat, but with some changes so it's unique. I havn't bought any of it yet due to lack of moneys. But in my sig there's a link that shows my progress on the project :;):

Sounds cool.

One of my strats has a very cool wiring scheme you may be interested in. In place of a tone pot is a volume control for the neck pick up. The neck P/up can be added in per taste. The neck p/up is not on the 5 way.Very versatile set up. Among the other interesting features is a tone control with a detent position which removes the tone control from the circuit. The 5 way has various series/parallell/phase and bridge/middle combo humbucker.

BTW, I did score the body!! rocker rocker rocker rocker
