I was wondering what guitar effects are mostly used in David Gilmours solos. Im pretty new to guitar, I recently just learned all of comfortably numb. I just want to know what effects I should use for the 2 solos. I have a small Ibenez amp and a Digitech effect box so im a little limited to the quality sounds lol.

for some things he has a very fast delay pedal going for the solos, (i.e. marooned)

try that.

Youre one of a kind. Just like everybody else.

i must be pretty lucky from what I se and hear. On the mother solo and all the Wall Album as well as Dark Side of the moon, I sound just like Gilmour, no pedals, just a Squier* strat that is 3 years old and a Fender Rock Pro 1000 half stack maxde in Good Ole USA. I do however need a Floyd book with tabs on it. I hate looking on the computer all the time. :music:

^ tone and notes/technique are totally different animals. Some of us spend as much or in my case, more, time finding tones than practicing licks.

^Right on. Dave's playing techniques can be so subtle, that the typical heavy handed player can't properly grasp how he does what he does. Cool

@ Narrow Way: You're very right. Some players can't play his solo's because there so subtle....like my neighbour. It's really frustrating for him.
