Even though he is nowehere near my favourite guitar player, but I really think that Jimi Hendrix is the most important player. What he did in the few years he was around for was remarkable and he is very important to guitar playing. However, I would also add Eric Clapton, BB King, and one last person. I don't play electric guitar with a plectrum and instead use my fingers. I was worried about that at first but then I found out that Mark Knopfler did exactly the same. For this reason he has been important to my confidence, so I would say him as well.

I'd agree on that about Hendrix. And I heard Robby Kreiger never used a pick either.
...plectrum? :p

RIP Syd Barrett - 1/6/46 - 7/7/06
RIP Rick Wright - 7/28/43 - 9/15/08

1. David Gilmour (very influential, and can mimic Hendrix & Syd).
2. Pete Townshend (awesome rythm player)
3. Leo Fender (he invented the solid body electric guitar(Fender Broadcaster), how much more important can you get?)
4. Steve Howe (Plays so fast it hurts my eyes)

I haven't really heard too much of them but from what I have they sound excellent.

Buy the 35th Anniversary Collection, it's a great one to get to get started on Yes, then buy "Going For The One". Cool
Yes are amazing, Jon Anderson has one of the best voices ever...

But this is going off-topic................ :upside:
