Stupid question, but when I was a whammy effect on the guitar, how do I get the smooth sound that David Gilmour gets in songs like The Blue when he uses the pedal fo the solo. Whenever I press down the pedal I can't keep my foot steady enough for it to go smoothly and instead it presses down too fast. Is there an art to being steady and getting the flowing sound.

I didn't really know how to phrase that qustion properly but I hope someone can understand what I am getting at. ???

I guess it's all about practise. Your foot needs to be steady and pretty precise.

What device are you using? Some pedals have a selectable or adjustable sweep, making the frequency range adjustable.

Thats exactly what i was going to say.

Also make sure its first in your effects chain as it will sound really fat and warm.

^ Right. if you place a wah pedal after a dirt/od pedal, it will be very pronounced and the peaks exaggerated. IMO, A wah pedal is first in the signal chain. That's the only way I can get the weeping sweet wah wah sound.

He's talking about the digitech whammy pedal buddy but in the same case yeh it should be first in the effects chain with the od then modulstion pedals next then finish with any reverb or delay last in chain

i know that live for marooned he uses a delay pedal, at a quick pace, and it gives it the reverb illusion.

Youre one of a kind. Just like everybody else.
