RE: Vocalists Discussion
I believe that singing learning to sing defeats the point of Rock music, if you naturally have a good singing voice, then fine, but if you don't, then that's that. Like Dave, he doesn't have a brilliant voice, and never has - he's never going to win any awards for singing, a radio DJ once commented "David Gilmour, now there's a man who never wasted money on singing lessons."; but I still like the way Dave sings.

I have to see part of wild thing for me and my friend's band, the interlude "Wildthing I think I love you" part. I sing pretty raspy, to cover up my flaws.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with that! Thumbsup

On topic: I didn't notice this thread before. In reference to Dyolf's post, HA!
*better than being tethered to the stage to prevent salvia induced floating*
The difficulty in doing David's voice is that he actually has good range and he's strong at both ends of it without resorting to screaming (Rog).

And now the final solution can be applied.

I just hope that none of this leads to traveling hundreds of miles to audition for American Idol and stunning the judges with your 30 second extended remix vocal performance of "One Of These Days" to which Randy will reply, "Sorry dude. It just didn't work for me dawg."
Continue to strive for something better than reality television.

Looking at most of the posts above. Singers, please learn to breathe then you won't harm your Vocal Chords. Those of you that smoke, should give it up.....the funny stuff too. Just a couple of tips. xxxx

I love the way David sings, by the way. To a Gilmourette like me, it's incredibly sexy. I love the way he sings High Hopes, especially the line : "do they still meet there by the cut...". The way he sings sings "cut" is just hmmmm. He kinds clicks it.
