Some cool choices there, especially with running order! I have a tendency to structure setlists that are similar to the albums, because they have such a natural ebb and flow to them anyway, so I've never tried anything like placing 'Time' in the last quarter, or sticking 'Echoes' smack dab in the middle. Might have to try it sometime...

cheers,

Our sets are all over the map. On this night, one of our female backup singers had another gig and couldn't get there until late. So we put her tracks towards the end. (I noticed that you opened a recent show with The Show Must Go On -- we've only tried to pull that off once -- and we placed it towards the end of the set with Waiting for the Worms)

We tried 'Show Must Go On' as a sort of "calm before the storm" experiment, since we were following up with 'In The Flesh', with the whole Hammer Guard schtick. We did the live version of SMGO (with the keyboard intro and extra verse) just to beef it up a bit so it wouldn't come and go without anyone noticing, and I thought it worked pretty well in terms of hypnotizing the crowd in a very quiet way for 2 minutes or so before all hell suddently broke loose. Devil

I understand about scheduling around some performers. We have a similar problem with our sax player, who is sometimes double-booked on the same nights we play. Fortunately, nobody seems to mind throwing 'Money' or 'Shine On' or whatever into the second half of the show.

cheers,
stabbim
