well, I was gonna say fair forgery but it doesn't count...

...um...

...I still have that little MiniDisc promo CD that Which One's Pink handed out a few years ago at one of their shows. Does that count? :)

Owning a tribute band cd is pretty much disowning Pink Floyd. If you like the music then pay the extra money and buy yourself the real Floyd music. There is a huge difference. Trust me, Its worth it !

However going to a Pink Floyd Tribute concert is completely fine, because hey.. its the next best thing to the real band and thats all you're gonna get so might as well.

P.S. Comfortably Numb, Canada's Pink Floyd Show is friggin decent ! Check them out if you have a chance.. The vocalist to "The Great Gig In The Sky" is just out of this worldddd!
Perhaps even better than the original !

Rock on Floydddd ! rocker :)

Wrong, especially if you already own every Pink Floyd release. In such a case, owning a tribute band CD is supportive not only of the tribute band but also of PF themselves since the royalties to produce the tribute band CD get paid to PF

When I go to see a Floyd tribute band and they have a CD or DVD on sale I usually buy one to add to my collection of Floyd stuff. I can honestly say that of all the Floyd tribute bands I have seen they all appear to be the same as me and have a love of the music of Pink Floyd. The income they make from these cds is not a lot but hey they have expenses in putting on the shows so I like to show my support. :)

Phil, this thread was started by someone who had the express intent of getting in my face about his offer to "trade" (i.e., give away) A Fair Forgery of Pink Floyd (a licensed disc, as you know, produced by me at great expense) and the subsequent discipline that resulted from that illegal offer. This person, apparently, believed that the fact that "no one" owned a tribute CD justified the offer to infringe on the copyrights in the CD by giving it away.
