How long has he been 'Roger'?

You know that Roger's real first name is George right, so I was wondering, did he go by that name at one point? Like when he was a little kid in school or something? Did he start going by Roger when he joined the band or has he been called Roger all his life? Just curious.

I believe he started going by Roger around 1966.
If it ain't dirty, don't clean it.
