Glukkonitis Wrote:And it's actually an okay song! It certainly says a lot about the band, when their absolute worst song ever is actually pretty good.

I have always really disliked how some of the song "She's Leaving Home" really slows down the album and consider it one of the least liked songs by me. But some of the chorus is at the same time what I like and dislike about the song.
I do not care for the falsetto singing from Paul as he sings,
"She
We gave her most of our lives
is leaving
sacrificed most of our lives
home
We gave her everything money could buy"
But the way they sort of stagger the lines and singing I do like especially near the song's end when they trick us with the
"She
What did we do that was wrong
is having
We didn't know it was wrong
fun
Fun is the one thing that money can't buy"

It's a sad song but at the end we tell ourselves that finally she is out in the world and should be just fine.

Just when you have gotten use to ignoring a song, sometimes for some reason we listen to it one more time without passing it over and we hear things in a different tone. I'm not suggesting that the music of The Beatles is the only magical music but still after so many years and so many listens, we sometimes are in a mood to hear it and find new connections.

Incidentally, they have remaster and digitized to stereo all of the groups British catalog but still have not reached agreements with iTunes.
Say what you want about releasing and rereleasing their stuff, I think a lot of younger people will benefit from yet another opportunity for exposure to the music in all it's capitalistic glory.
They are set to release the original U.K. 12 plus the adopted Magical Mystery Tour as a compact disc collection in addition to using the remasters in a video game Guitar Hero/Rock Band Beatles version and I am sure ultimately coming to terms for release as downloads.

Some fun stuff here but I kind of wish Craig would straighten out Shabby Road.

Now go buy his book.

RE: The Beatles!
I want to tell you something interesting and funny about The Beatles. In one Russian town, Magnitogorsk, in one of the theatres there is one performance goes on as "sold-out" notice. What do you think? It is performance about The Beatles! The plot is based on story of this band, of course, with some part of fantasy. The most interesting thing is that performance is for persons not less older than 16! ("Sex, drugs, rock'n'roll, you know...", - as says the director of this show.)
