Jumpy Wrote:I don't think you can necessarily say there would have been no "Run Like Hell" or "Comfortably Numb," as those songs were cowritten by Dave. So if Dave had been working with Rog on Pros & Cons instead of The Wall, there's a chance that those riffs and solos would somehow have been incorporated into Pros & Cons songs. For that matter, the whole melodies from those songs could have remained intact.
Certainly, as someone else here said, Pros & Cons would have sounded much different and much less meandering with the band's input.
I'm aware of that, but I really think the lyrical aspect of Pros and Cons is weird for radio.

We would have had the music to the 2 songs but not the lyrics. And they wouldn't have had there respective titles.

No. The themes are very different. The Wall touches to the very delicate parts of the society and much more diverse than Pros and Cons.
There is no dark side of the moon, really. As a matter of fact, it's all dark.

My understanding of both CN and Run Like Hell is that David wrote the music first, and then Roger added lyrics to them later. So, in other words, if The Wall hadn't been recorded, a hypothetical PF Pros and Cons might have had songs with similar music provided by Dave, but they wouldn't have had the same lyrics, because obviously the lyrics for those two songs were written specifically for The Wall. So, essentially, those songs wouldn't exist, although we might have some interesting songs with similar music and different lyrics.

Like "Raving and Drolling" vs. "Sheep"?
I'm not sure it would have mattered. It could have been called "Commonly Dumb" instead of "Comfortably Numb," and it still would have what guitar magazines routinely rate as a top five electric guitar solo.
