I got an absinthe kit awhile ago, but no one wants to try it with me. They're all afraid I'll mess it up and end up killing someone... oh well...

These are my favorite alcohols in descending order:

1 - Cognac (Hennesey, Courvoisier, Meukow)
2 - Whiskey (Wild Turkey, Jack Daniels, Crown Royal)
3 - "Good" beer (Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Killians, Blue Moon, Amberbock, Michelob)
4 - Rum (Captain Morgan's Private Stock, Pyrat)
5 - Scotch (Johnnie Walker... haven't tried much else)
6 - Wine (I generally stick to white/pink, I have a red wine allergy)
Now... this is where they start to become unfavorable:
7 - Brandy (I've only ever tried E&J, but it was gross!)
8 - Vodka (No vodka is good vodka, I've tried all kinds)
9 - Schnapps/liqueurs ("No schnapps beyond this point!")
10 - Low-end beer (Natty, Keystone, Steel Reserves... includes girly drinks like Smirnoff, Sparks, etc.)
12 - Hairy Buffalo...
13 - A liter of anything that costs under $10

Well, Absinthe is great, but only on special ocassions.
Anyway, I'll stick to beer and wine.

If I'm going to drink alcohol, my drink of choice is the White Russian. I used to drink straight vodka, but after a particularly bad night and an even worse morning, I cannot now even smell vodka without feeling sick. But masked in Kahlua and cream (or Bailey's, if I'm feeling malicious), I can stomach it.

As far as beer goes, my appraisal is that most of it tastes like piss. It's just too light for me...I like my drinks to have a lot of body and a lot of flavor. Therefore, the only beers I'll drink are those made by the Flying Dog Brewery, especially the Snake Dog IPA.

Omigosh, how could I forget that one?! When I first discovered it I was in awe; beer that's related to Hunter S. Thompson in a roundabout way? Are ya serious? It was love at first... uhm... well it was pretty impressive, anyway.

Magic Hat isn't bad either.

I'll still throw my favorite sipping drink besides Jack on ice. The delicious "godmother", equal parts Stoli's and amaretto di saronno on ice, maybe the slightest amount more of amaretto...sip and savor...be careful! :)

Every now and then in the summer an ice cold Beck's or St. Pauli Girl is pretty alright.

When I drink hard liquor, I always go for vodka. Don't know why, just always liked it better than the others.......

You are a man after my own heart. White Russians are my favorite drink also. Screwdrivers used to be my favorite until I had a bad night at a club in Cincinnati that resulted in leaving seventeen screwdrivers I ingested in a row in the women's bathroom sink.
Like you, I still think of that incident in the bathroom so many years ago and I can't even go near a screwdriver to this day, but I still love White Russians.

Whiskey and beer make me violently ill. Whiskey hangovers are the worst. Last time I had a whiskey hangover, I drank a shot straight (and used beer as a chaser--the boilermaker thing) and I threw it up and it burned like hell coming up. I literally thought I was going to die. I was sick in bed the whole next day nursing hot tea and tylenols and I said 'never again.'

Aquavit, a lovely drink from Norway, it's the only drink I like outside of Traditional Ale.
