I am going to Dave's April 5th show at Radio City Music Hall and was wondering a few things...

The ticket says "no recorders or cameras" and I remember somewhere it said that people attending are subject to pass through a metal detector.

If one was to bring a camera, could it be confiscated? If not, would it be detectable by the metal detector?
Also, has anyone been to Radio City Music Hall in a similar situation? Have people brought cameras? etc.

I don't intend to bring any camera or recorder, but I was wondering if anyone had any advice, suggestions or thoughts on this thing. Thanks in advance.

I went to RCMH back in '04 to see Rush. I went in undetected with a recorder in my sock. I plan on doing the same for the Gilmour show.

You're not getting through a metal detector with any electronics in tow. Leave your hardware at home. And yes, of course it can be confiscated. And just try getting it back once they take it. Just enjoy the show. There'll be a board recording at some location of the tour within a month, most likely.

I have a tiny .mp3 player (records audio in .wav format) and I was intending on sneaking it in. (either in my sock or something like that)

since I don't have the best seats, I don't bother bringing my new digital camera. even though it does take movies with sound, it's probably not the risk to have it taken away.

last time i tried to sneak a recorder into the show they just had me take it back to my car and when i returned they used the handheld metal detector and let me go in... nasty lady had to frisk me again :p
