Violater and Playing the Angel are my favourites. I also like Ultra. Other than those, I haven't heard much (other than Exciter which I was only half liking).

Violator is one of my favorite albums of all time. Every song is great, in particular, "Blue Dress", "Waiting For The Night", and of course, "Enjoy The Silence." Dave Gahan has an amazing voice.

Rick Wright 1943-2008. I will never change my avatar.

Some of their songs mean a world - and sometimes salvation! - to me; my no. 1 favourite album of them, Some Great Reward, was released in mid 1980's (1984?) or thereabouts, and promptly enough to rescue me. No, of course not... quite. I remember I had just led off the age of riot, war against everyone and suicidal thoughts, and one day, shortly after the release of the album, someone lent me their copy. I was affected with most of the songs, especially Stories of old, but none of them impacted me as deeply (and efficiently!) as Blasphemous rumours. Firstly, it made my outlook change. Secondly, it is just a beautiful song.

Apart from SGR... There were both DM songs I loved and DM songs I hated. I disagree with those who claim Violator is their very best LP; there was a good few of good songs released on it, along with a good few of it's-no-good songs. I also have the Black Celebration album, I bought it a few years ago... and never brought myself to listen to it. Exciter - I have heard it umpteen times and remember none of the songs, apart from Dream on and I feel loved. Just another CD. Bald and... boring.

It is not any mode of depeche. It has nothing at all to do with English language. As you may (but don't have to) know, Dave Gahan spotted the words "depeche mode" on the cover of a French fashion magazine and decided that it would simply sound great. The name Depeche Mode is in French, not in English, and it means "a fashion telegram" or "a fashion dispatch".

Ugh. It's just f*cking synthpop. I've made bowel movements that sound better than Depeche Mode.

RE: Depeche Mode!
I love this group. As I said in one topic, it's my 1st passion as group consist of men and 2st passion as music passion. Most of all I love their album "Songs of faith and devotion".

It's my favourite period of this band. I think they showed in Devotional their best they can. To a point of this, Dave Gahan is first man whom I oved with long hair. I didn't like men with long hair before.))

There are news refer to DM. They are releasing new album that maybe will be called "Songs of the Universe" and consists of 13 tracks in March/April next year. 1st single "Wrong" will be on air in February. Doesn't it good? I'm so excited and waiting for it very much!
