OK, this will be my final post in PF Online forum. I have grown quite sick of watching people argue over questions for which there is no SINGLE answer, yet if there is no agreement, there must be incessant blamestorming and conspiracy theories.

For those democrats who are reasonable and have an open mind, I offer this beautifully articulated blog:
http://www.scottrandolph.net/2005/08/17/...http://www.scottrandolph.net/2005/08/17/cindy-sealed

For those republicans who don't think the party is quite perfect, please remember it's far better to be gracious and welcome people into the "right" frame of mind - and that before you question your country, you'd really better question your own party. You're NOT always right, so you better always be gracious.

For all of you to the far right or the far left, you're ALL probably so damned brainwashed that there's no help for you. You'll do anything to fit in, as if you're trying out for an exclusive club or streetgang, and you have to outdo the people you're trying to impress - and you're going farther right, and farther left, and now you're so out of touch that you believe your own lies. You see the "other side" as "the enemy" - and to BOTH of your extreme sides, I hereby command you to STFU - you're giving all the sane people who are caught in the middle a bad name. For the 85% of this country who remain, they will someday unite and shout your brainwashed asses down like you've all been doing to the rest of us since you discovered you could abuse the 1st Amendment - whether you step on it or "hyperextend" it. Rights are living things - not to be abused OR neglected.

I sincerely hope that Americans will 1) Realize there are better ways to spend their time than making banal witticisms about people and situations they are too arrogant to get to know or understand. 2) Realize the only way to make a better country and future for the whole world is to stop bitching about WHY something can't be done and start discussing HOW it CAN, and how things can be improved. We're in a hell of a mess, and it'll only get messier if we don't at least find some common ground. I have long believed that if we could all look at what we have in common instead of how we're different, the whole world would be a better place.

I'm sure there will be some snide remarks after the virtual door closes behind me; most of you will probably be happy to see me go. Some might miss my unusual points of view. But I gotta go... This place is just plain full of people who are addicted to the misery they serve in the name of love.

Oh, and as a challenge - compare the "Wizard of Oz" to the war on terror. Oz was the Emerald City - Afghanistan has what? Dorothy and friends fell asleep in a field of what? Who is the Tin Man? Who is the Scarecrow? Who is the Lion? Who is the Good Witch of the North? Who is the Wicked Witch of the West? Typecasting aside, they all got what they deserved when our heroes pulled together. BTW, the Wicked Witch is Osama (can't you tell by that nasty complexion and that horrible nose?). Bring me a glass of water, I'd be more than happy to do the honors - AFTER the lion gets his courage, the tin man gets his heart, and the scarecrow gets his brain.

Best wishes to all of you, even if we didn't agree on everything. Tread lightly where you go - it's your own heart you walk on.

I certainly understand how you feel. You will be missed if you really leave. I had hopes that this particular thread could look at new ways to resolve some world issues. At one point in time it had that chance before going off topic. I believed I could help by giving historical information. My next post was to be about how the Saudi Kings were American made and thus pretenders to the throne. (this is at the center of all our problems) I also had two other ideas about how to stop terrorists crossing illegally into Nations.

But keeping dialog on track and the flamers at bay seem impossible here. Which is really disappointing to me as I had hoped Floyd fans were special.

If you find a better site to discuss issues let me know, as I enjoyed your input.

Peace

What we discussed exactly a year ago.

There`s some heavy, forthright, angry stuff in this thread. It starts off about the London Bombings, and, via Iraq, the Middle East, and a Hell of a lot of personal slagging, (and quite possibly bannings) ends up with US gun control.

The lack of respect here is cringe-making....some good points though.

Icy wind of night be gone...this is not your domain
