You seem to forget, America's largest war was fought under one of its most liberal Presidents. How is the original valid now?
Look back, I corrected myself. Yes they are statements. And sure they're stereotypical. I didn't claim all those who are anti-Bush would think that. But nevertheless, many opposed to Bush have said that exact statement, in those exact words.

America's longest war was also one of it's most unpopular. Didn't those who opposed that war feel similar to how that statement suggests?

And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

I posted to comment on how debating around in circles doesn't really go anywhere anymore, and everyone ends up pretty much where they started, as everyone's own view on the subject is so firmly rooted. I agree that debate is healthy and neccesary, but I think that different ideologies have become so alien to eachother that real understanding sometimes seems hopeless.

As a regular member of many forums, I have observed countless Bush debates. I respect all points of view, and I'm always asking questions of my own. I also understand emotion goes hand in hand with arguing ones beliefs. I just think people who use their emotions to express hate could put their emotions to better use by explaining why they feel their side is right without putting anyone down. (i.e, Bush) I such a thing doesn't come easlily in a debate environment, but I think it could make any debate more productive in the end.

great thread...maybe it's possible that we can express opinions without anger or "hate" towards the other side after all...I've always tried to listen to all sides of an issue before forming an opinion..it seems ridiculous that we can follow or support any leader without thought or debate..so much of our beautiful country is tied to beliefs formed by people who went before them rather than by individual investigation or proper information...I fear for the future sometimes, but, when reading a thread like this with open, free expression of different thoughts, it gives me hope...if only our politicians were so eloquent and well informed...thanks for the rays of light my friends...as floydianyid says..I love you all!

And now the final solution can be applied.

You've heard all they've got to say
You looked but turned away
Just walk away walk away
You've said all you got to say
Now the words just slip away
Just walk away, walk away, walk away
That's what they say, what they say, what they say
You gotta walk away

If you've played all the games they've played
You played them yesterday
Just walk away, walk away
If you've been, where they wanna go, seen all they've got to show
Just walk away, walk away, walk away
That's what they say, what they say, what they say
You gotta walk away

And now you must believe me, you never lose your dream
So now you must believe me, we never lose our dreams

If you proved all there is to prove, got nothing left to use
Just walk away, walk away
If you've done, all there is to do, ain't nothing left for you
Just walk away, walk away, walk away
That's what they say, what they say, what they say
Walk away, walk away, walk away
That's what they say, what they say, what they say
You gotta walk away today

it seems that the biggest problem with politics these days is that both sides are competing against each other. A politician of either side will never admit that the other had a fair point or that what they thought of was best, but that they need to think of something better. I'm not saying this is just Bush's fault, but I think he shouldnt make statements that he will most likely not be able to back up, such as in the one of the recent debates..."There will not be a draft." I sure hope so, but it seems that we are getting closer to needing one, because the soldiers deaths are slowing starting to add up.

Dangerous topics are often those that need discussed the most. That is the way free speech works. You discuss what you feel. Should you feel superior in your speech? No. And I agree it should not become a childess argument. But discussions are the best way to formulate your ideas and beliefs. Without discussion their can be no progress.

Also why are your anti-Bush comments so short, whereas your Pro-Bush have examples and more formulation? It is alright to have a bias, if you present your information and remind that it is from a bias standpoint-it isn't okay to present your ideas as unbias, when they really are, because you would be manipulative and perhaps even lying to yourself. ???
Absolutely not. I was making a point about the debate itself. Both sides argue the points I made.
I think you're missing my point. Your comments for the "anti-Bush" are short and sterotypical-whereas for the "pro-Bush" they're longer, and with examples. You're saying you won't debate but you are in a very round-about way. ???
Not liking Bush doesn't take a book to explain. My nephew was killed in Iraq. My son survived Afghanistan and now, he's in the same place, his cousin was. Short, bitter, and straight to the point.
