I read in the booklet that accompanies the In the Flesh concert cds and dvd that Roger thinks that anyone who owns TDSOTM and The Wall has to own Amused to Death to complete the narrative. Do you guys agree.

I personaly think it does I cna deffinatly see the similarities with Amused to Death and TDSOTM. Not so much with The Wall but they are there.

They are all undoubtedly monumental pieces of work, but I don't really see how they form a continued narrative. I've read that as well in the liner notes, but never really understood his angle on that, based on my own understanding of the subject matter on the three releases.

They do share a common thread in that they are all absolutely brilliant pieces of musical work with great vision, but they certainly don't work together to form any sort of storyline.

Hey, you don't think it might not just be Roger Waters trying to sell more albums do you?

No. I think they do have a common theme. In fact Amused to Death seams to tie in with the 5 Pink Floyd concept albums with the posible exception of wish you were here.

I think you might be right. The album deserved to be heard by more people than it ultimately did.....but let's face it....it's not as immediately appealing as DSOTM or The Wall. It takes a commitment of repeated listens to really sink in, which in the case of most listeners, is asking a lot.

A continued narrative? No.....I think not. Any similarities between the three albums are purely tied together by Roger's style of writing and to a much lesser extent, the subject matter.
