I can't decide whether I should see White Stripes or John Mayer. The thing is I would rather see The White Stripes but it's 4 hours away and the ticket is 150 while John Mayer is 2 and half hours away and the ticket is 80. I have enough money to do one of these. What whould you guys do?

I'm actually going to see both.

and I speant 33$ on my White Stripes ticket. why are they 150?

ANYWAYS... that is a tough one.
White Stripes are a dirty garage blues rock band. Jack can RIP on the guitar and they have a really cool Rockabilly opening act.

John Mayer. HE rips on the guitar. Doesnt have that dirty garage quality that the 'Stripes have. AND Ben Folds is opening for him!!!! The only bad thing is.... you're going to be in an audience full of little girls who just think that John is hot.

Go with the White Stripes if you want real good dirty blues music.
Go with Ben Folds/ John Mayer if you want an awesome show with two awesome musicians. (cough, Ben Folds is better)

Wasn`t familiar with him either, until Live Earth. Love the guitar riff on "Belief"....must check out more of his stuff.

I think I'm going to go with Mayer just because of all the trouble it would be with going to see the White Stripes Show. I would rather see The White Stripes b/c it's at a smaller venue and I think it would be a very good show because they are so unpredictable. But the show is sold out and I would be paying twice as much as I would for the John Mayer ticket and it would cost around 100 for gas for the trip down to Mrytle beach, John Mayer is a lot closer. The plan I had set up was that my parents and grandparents had planned on staying at their beach house the last weekend in July which is an hour and a half away from the concert. Me and my friend were going to stay down there then go to the concert and then come back and leave the next morning. But plans change and my family isn't going down there and I would have to buy a hotel room so the way I figure it would cost almost 200 dollars extra to see The White Stripes. Anyway John Mayer would be an awesome show as well so I think I'll stick with him.

yeah. i saw John Mayer in Boston on tuesday.

it was a great show. event hough i was really only going for Ben Folds (the opener)who was AMAZING

he does a mixture of his real funky blues stuff and his crappy pop.

all in all the show is pretty entertaining

AND I'm seeing the White Stripes on Sunday!!!

EDIT to show how cool i am.
