Anyone? I am only acquainted with two of their albums at the moment: Sister and Daydream Nation. But they're pretty good. I really like the way their guitars sound, I read an article that claims they use extremely unconventional tunings on their guitars.

I dig'em.Seen them a bunch of times, late 80's early 90's. Thurston and Lee used multiple unconventional tunings, and had numerous guitars on stage to accommodate it.Always a good show and seemed to change the set list alot.

I'll recommend Bad Moon Rising as their pinnacle of work, Daydream Nation is also very good,EVOL, Confusion is Sex are all standouts.

Cool group. almost an anti-music music.

I've seen em in concert on their last big tour and I've purchased most of their albums, I have like 16 total. It's kind of overwhelming. A bit of an overrated band I think. Right now I'm taking a bit of a break from them. I'm just about up to my ears in SY. A bit disappointing how popular they've become - making a compilation for Starbucks, their shirts are at Hot Topic, you hear them on the PA at Guitar Center...this is the same group that released brutally harsh grinding noise rock in the early 80's! They're so tame and commercial now!

Bad Moon Rising is my least favorite of their albums because it's pretty much pure no wave anti-music. My favorite era was Dirty - Experimental Jet Set - Washing Machine. Those are their 3 best albums IMO, all right next to each other. Almost all of it is good, but I don't think any of it is really excellent.

Been into 'em for many years, got into them with Daydream Nation. Have seen 'em three times--first time on the Daydream Nation tour, then opening for Neil Young on the Goo tour, and then just recently on their latest tour. Good band--their style can get kind of repetitious sometimes, but they've done a good job of surviving over the years.

My favorite albums by them are Daydream Nation, Experimental Trash Jet Set No Stay, Confusion is Sex, Evol, Murray Street, and the new one. Sister and Washing Machine are also good. Least faves are Bad Moon Rising (too weird even for me) and Dirty (too conventional).

Can't really say I agree. Their new one is "pop" in the sense of having great melodies, but otherwise it's a cool, quirky album that certainly doesn't sound like any kind of music that has been in vogue recently. Some of their other recent stuff (for example, Murray Street and especially NYC Ghosts and Flowers)is considerably more UNconventional than their 90's stuff.

To me, their most commercial albums are Goo (which I like) and Dirty (which I dislike). Dirty, especially, made them sound like a semi-conventional Rawk band, right in the middle of the grunge explosion when that stuff was popular. I mean, I know they influenced the grunge bands and all, but to me all of those grungy powerchords sounded almost shockingly normal and conventional after stuff like Evol and Daydream Nation. My younger grunge-rock friends liked it, but I was massively disappointed in it--it sounded like a major dumbing-down to me at the time, and I still don't like it much. I'll take their new stuff over that any day.

Didn't like them at first but they are slowly growing on me. I have only heard Goo and Daydream Nation.
