Okay boys and girls.
The concert is fast approaching and I leave for Europe to begin the trip that ends with the concert on Monday. So just a reminder. I am a tall guy (6' 4") and will be wearing a blue Toronto Maple Leafs hockey jersey with "FLOYDIANLEAF" written on the back. If you see me, don't forget to say hello.
Enjoy the show!

Great gig, though in my opinion Dave's contribution was dissapointing. He played three tracks - Marooned, Coming back to life and Sorrow. Now they are not bad tracks, and i have not heard marooned live before so that was a pleasure, but this was a celebration of the strat guitar and the tracks that people would have expected to hear were the likes of 'Time', 'Money' and 'Comfy'. The majority of the crowd were not fully familiar with Floyd and therefore it all went a little flat. Compare this to the contributions by Joe Walsh, Paul Rodgers and Mike and the Mechanics, Gary Moore and Ronny Wood and I'm afraid it didn't really work. :(

Greetings all, I am back!
I agree with the above poster a lot. Dave didn't play enough for my liking and thought he was allowed to contribute the least of everyone. Maybe the fact the concert was over a half hour delayed had something to do with it.
I am sure none of you guys are going to believe this, but I managed to meet Dave and shake his hand. He walked past me while I was standing by the doors that led back stage and I went and said hello and said all I wanted to do was shake his hand. He offered it, I shook it and he proceeded through the door and I proceeded to have what was close to an emotional episode reserved normally by women. :)
I'll never forget it!
Where the actual show is concerned though...I think they could have done a far better job of it.

I think the point to remember is that this was a concert celebrating the strat and not just Dave Gilmour/Pink Floyd no matter how much we'd all love him to just do the classics.
I saw Dave, years ago, at another charity gig at the Hackney Empire and all night the crowd just shouted 'more floyd' which must be off putting for the rest of the artistes.
Personally, I'd rather the crickets and hank marvin had spent less time on stage (along with amy winehouse) and had more Gary Moore but in all I thought the concert was well worth going to.
The big disappointment to me was why Brian May was allowed to perform using that old home made guitar of his. If they were letting any old guitar up there they should have had Jimmy with his twin neck gibson!
For those that didn't make it Capital gold were recording the show and it will be broadcast some time in the future. I don't listen to it so won't know when it is on - can someone post the dates/times when its announced - it should also be available on their website for those not in the UK.

I emailed Capital to find out when the concert will be on and got the following reply
"The Rock Show on Friday 8 October from 10pm will be carrying exclusive UK highlights of the 'Miller Strat Pack Concert. The show
will feature unique live performances form Guitar Wizards Brian May, David Gilmour, Gary Moore, Jeff Beck, Hank Marvin, Joe Walsh and many more including a few legendary guests that turned up announced."
There is a listen live facility so those not in the UK should be able to access it.

I have uploaded my pictures of London into my Webshots photo albums.
There are some pictures of the city, of me and my wife etc. which you'll have to wade through, but there are also pictures of some Floyd landmarks and places Floyd has performed and toward the end some shots of the concert.
You can view them if you like:
