Actually, it was the other way around. Floyd refused to do the soundtrack for 2001. Later, Kubrick refused to let Roger use a clip from 2001 in Amused to Death.

Now I'll get anything of Pink Floyd if I can, you know the type of thing, type of toilet roll used, discarded bottle of 'Blue Nun' at the end of a gig, but I have to draw the line at this.
I can't help feeling that this 'plastic toy' thing is a cheap gimmick to get the pennies in.
I can see Toys'r'us now......
