It's about time! I was getting sick of various magazines rating him low just because Pink Floyd isn't as commercial as other bands or their best songs are too long to play on the radio. Props to DG! :D

Gilmour wasnt as "fast" as jimmy page on the guitar some say but i think he is the best of all time. page, hendrix etc all great but i like gilmours slow-signature style. and he tops everyone in solos

I think Gilmour is one of the best probably the best at solos but Page is probably the best of all time just look at his overall skill. Guitarists like Hendrix just used alot of pedals and is considered the best...when people like Gilmour used actual talent and cant even be seen on the top 50 greatest guitarists by major magazines like Rolling Stone.

Congrats David Gilmour.

(Even though most major guitarists like Page and Hendrix used Gibsons and not Fenders)

Page used the Les Paul as his main guitar, but the entire first album was done on a Fender Telecaster, and the solo for Stairway To Heaven was recorded on the same Telecaster. He also had a Fender 12-string and a Fender Stratocaster.

Hendrix used the Fender Strat as his main, but did use a Les Paul, Gibson Flying V and perhaps an SG also.

I always find this funny that the industry says Pink Floyd wasn't that "commercial" .....when you look at the statistics and sales over almost 40 years....it just blows this "Non commercial theory" up all to hell!
