Some band my sister was in once played a very good rendition of that song. They also played Wish You Were Here and she got the solo. :)

Green/Mac's original version is much better than the Santana version I feel.

So your sister is really good on guitar? Which one's this? The youngest one? I can't remember either of your sisters' names now.

This is the middle sister. Don't remember how many years she's been playing up to this point but she picked it up very rapidly and now she's looking into music school for guitar.

So "middle sister" (what's her name again?) is going to get a degree in guitar-playing? By school you mean university, right?

Well I don't know what type of schools exactly that she's looking at, whether its a university/college or what but that would be my guess. Anyway, this has nothing to do with Dave Gilmour which is what this category is right? hehe

Well the thread is about guitar-playing, and since we discussed your sister playing WYWH solo, it's fairly relavent to Gilmour. Far less tangential than many discussions that have rambled away on this forum in the past!

Would be nice to have music as one's full-time education subject. Or art.

I cant BELIEVE stevie ray is so low on the list!! I mean he is below Eddie Van Halen? Van Halen sucks..... then again Ive never cared much for what i call 80s poprock (mostly the glam bands and the hair bands).

Also, I love nirvana and Kurt Cobain (rest in peace) but he was NOT that skilled of a guitarist. Yes, he was good but nowhere NEAR that of the greats... I mean to put him on a top 20 list of all time is just a measurement of how many people dont know what they are talking about.

Agree with most of DancingDrunkard's comments as a guitarist myself. I think Syd's a little under-rated as a guitarist. He could pull of some really far out stuff that was most original. Uniquely unconventional sense of rhythm. Most of the best guitarists are bluesmen. I must recommend Neil Young who plays great guitar across so many genres on acoustic and electric.
