I was lucky enough to be there at the Mermaid concert and it was the best night of life (well, until i see him again in May!). The lighting and sound was PERFECT, and the venue was so small and imtimate (600 capacity). I was in the 6th row dead centre, so close to my hero... The new stuff was amazing. I wasn't a huge fan of Take A Breath until i saw it live, a truly great rock song. Of course, the classics were breathtaking as you'd expect, WTIO was a nice surprise! What the radio and tv doesnt show is that he played OAI and The Blue again at the end, because he said the first time he played them they were "a bit nervy", so that was an added bonus! Got Polly's autograph at the end as well, she was sat a few rows behind with a few of their children!
All in all, it was a great concert, the BBC has been great in putting all of this together.

If you guys not saw it yet, get there!!!
What do you mean? Will he be performing there again? Also, is there any chance I can go watch David Gilmour at a concert or anything? His tour is a sell out. What other options do I have? (sorry, I'm new to all of this)

He means, if you've got Freeview digital TV you can go to channel 702 which is Radio 2, then press the red button, and you'll find a certain portly guitar hero doing three numbers... :D

"Portly Guitar Hero"?
...my mother taught me to never "cast my pearls before swine". This makes me sad.
Funny comment? - I'll pretend to laugh.
Useful insight? - I'll remain happily ignorant.
I think I'll leave this "gentleman" to revisit Roger's vocal performance at LIVE8, and take an unplanned vacation from here...

Wow, I just can't believe it. What happened to Rick? I mean, he looks his age, but he is singing and playing more confidently than he has since the 70's. He friggin' NAILED Comfortably Numb, and this is very early i the tour, when nobody should be sounding so "on." He looks so relaxed and into his key playing, too.
I gotta say, I like this format better than the 90's PF--it's way more intimate. Of course, I'd like to see all four PF members back together more than anything, but in lieu of that, this is just so nice to see Dave, Rick and Dick playing so close so each other. Losing the backing vocalists and the extra percussionalist hasn't hurt at all. Screw the brand name--this looks, feels and smells like Floyd to me, whatever they want to call it!
