What do u think is davids most underrated guitar solos. With Pink Floyd or as a Solo Artist. Mine would have to be Mother and On The Turning Away. I love the both of them....yet no one really talks about them.

Two good choices. 'Mother's" solo on ITAOT is especially good, in that it's so well extended. He actually managed to make it even more emotional!

I'm going to pick 'Childhood's End'. He just rips it apart on this one! Always loved this song for that solo!

2 That I think are really un-known, but are just as good as the famous ones (ABITW pt.2, CN, Time, Dogs, etc.) are Not Now John, The Nile Song (sounds a bit like hendrix), and Atom Heart Mother. Seems like Gilmour tries to put solos in 80% of the songs he's in.

I actually love some of his work on the Final Cut too, despite his general contribution being rather limited by various circumstances. The solos on the 'Fletcher Memorial Home' and 'The Final Cut', in particular, are blistering. There's something about the mixture of Roger's unique vocal delivery followed by David's guitar style that's really satisfying.

The Gold It's in the...

this solo is just so raw. i really love it. dave's work on OBC was really underrated. its just so 'not floyd', yet it's still completely awesome.

I think he re-gifted and then he de-gifted and now he's using an upstairs invite as a springboard to a Super Bowl sex romp!

A pretty obscure one is his solo at the end of "Don't Leave Me Now" from The Wall. It's basically just a couple of notes that he holds for a long time, but it's searing and really has a crying quality to it. Sometimes one good note says it all!

yes, his solo on the title track of The Final Cut is ridiculous. One of my favorites, easily. Gets me every time, without fail.
