You can see Astoria quite good on Google Earth.
I visited it last year after a long day at Hampton Court. :)

Here's another great link from David Gilmour's web site regarding the Astoria boat house recording studio. It's a good read for those technically minded Biggrin

Wow, I'm blown away! I've always wondered about Dave's Astoria, and the most I've seen on other fan sites? are like the Google Earth shot. Not only, thanks to the nice poster, SEE it, I get to read that PDF about how the studio is so ahead of its time. I've like almost BEEN there nowBiggrin

The taste was sweeter
The nights of wonder
With friends surrounded
The dawn mist glowing
The water flowing
The endless river
Forever and ever.

'yer killin' me with the pirate thingLaughing the whole theme of our deployment down here in Curacao, has been the pirate thing. Firemen are simular in most respects with pirates, anyway. I'm most likely to get my first, and only tatoo, the "Jolly Roger," with a scroll that reads, "Take all, leave nothing!!!" I'm haunting the sleepy board tonight, as I'm, at, "work,' and theres nothing to do. I'm listening to some good floyd and just haunting the boardsBlink We've only got about ten days, and two SCUBA dives left, then I go back to crappy ohio. The weather is simular to England, but its one big corn field with a couple of cities. I'm working up the nerve to get the tatpirate
