personally, I like Thomas Dolby as a keyboard player. But then, I like Elton, and Billy Joel too... :p

oh, btw - does anyone know who was the keyboard player on David Bowie's "Alladdin Sane"? That's a monster of a piano solo - took me weeks to even get close to it.

I voted Rick but I love Manzarek too. You must remember that Ray Manzarek played bass for The Doors also on the bass keyboard since they never added a bassist (with the exception of Roadhouse Blues, which featured Lonnie Mack on bass, and a few other songs).

Perfectly put. Keith Emerson is the most amazing musician I've ever seen. I've got the DVD "Emerson, Lake, & Palmer: Live at the Royal Albert Hall". Emerson's got three keyboards stacked up on both sides of him and he's playing all six of them every song with out looking at what he's doing. The man is truely talented.

And I know what some would say. It's not how well you play, it's what you play. Emerson has written some of the most phenominal piano solos known to man. Has anyone ever heard Close To Home? It's the song that convinced me he was the best.

out of the choices, I'd say Rick because of his class, but Emerson and Wakeman are also amazing

I would have to agree that ALL of the members of Tangerine Dream should be included.
