mean on the album he sounds good but you know there is always tweak here and there

I don't know about 'shot', but we've got to remember, these guys aren't spring chickens anymore. Even Gilmour himself is sounding different with age.

I myself think that floyd's music sounds better as they age. If you compare Wish You Were Here from Live 8 with the version on Echoes it has an entirely different feel to it

I just Heard Ricks voice from the Paris and German shows, he sounds in fine form. you guys have to stop analyzing the Mermaid show, it was a tour warm up and no-one was on key. I still dont understand why they chose to tape that show.

His voice sounded good last night...He's become older, yes, but not worse. His playing was great too.

these guys are around 60 years old...
from the reviews I've read, Rick sounds pretty good for his age!

I disagree. I thought that Rick sounded great on the Mermaid version of Comfortably Numb... and that was a rehearsal show in which everything should have been relatively bad.
I didn't like the singing on Comfortably Numb when David tried to sing it on his old solo tours, and I thought that the weird harmony version (with Rick, Guy Pratt and Jon Carin singing together) was not bad, but not so great. From the stuff I've heard online of David's tour, though, I think that Rick is NAILING Roger's parts... the best anyone besides Roger has ever sung it.
Also, actually, from hearing the the live versions online, I think that Rick's voice is actually in better shape that it was in the latter-day Floyd tours. That happens to some people... people's voices tend to lose some of their range as they age, but sometimes, they learn how to effectively sing within their new range, and their singing actually improves as a result.
Finally, those vocals on Echoes are more of a harmonized duet than harmonies.
Rick's singing rocks!

According to me Rick was very nervous about the tour and therefore he didn't sing well at the beginning. It is interesting to hear him sing Rogers parts in "Comfortably Numb" The Wall is of course Roger Waters piece, and he is doing it fine.
