OK, this is the second version of the poll. I've eliminated the songs that didn't get any votes the first time, and I've added Stay and Burning Bridges, which I overlooked the first time.
Now we have 9 Floyd songs that Rick sang lead or co-lead on. Please vote on the quality of RICK'S singing, not on the song overall, or on the overall quality of the singing (obviously some of the songs have more than one singer on them)
Again, the criteria I've used to select the songs is that Rick was the dominant or only vocalist on at least part of the song.
For those who don't know who is singing what:
Astronomy Domine: I'm referring to the live versions on Ummagumma and some versions of Pulse. In the studio version, Syd and Rick's voices are about equal in volume, but Rick's voice is louder than Dave's in the live versions, so it's easier to judge his singing on those versions.
Burning Bridges: Dave sings the first verse, Rick sings the second verse, with Dave joining in halfway through. 3rd verse both sing, with Rick singing the low parts and Dave singing the high parts.
Matilda Mother: Rick sings the 1st two verses alone, and he sings the choruses with Syd.
Time: Rick sings the choruses ("tired of lying in the sunlight"; "every day is getting shorter")

Glad you revised this poll, Mabewa! "Stay" is just too good a song by Rick to leave out. "Burning Bridges" is great as well, and one of the best examples of Gilmour's and Wright's vocals working so well together......great stuff!
That does it....I'm gonna have to give the OBC album a spin this morning!

Yeah, Burning Bridges is a wonderful example of Rick and Dave singing together... the way the vocal parts are arranged, you get to hear both voices individually and then together. And then, Stay, which is a good Rick/Roger tune, and is said to have Roger singing harmony. Sweet tunes from a sweet album!

Didn't know Roger sang harmony on "Stay". I really don't hear it. Always thought it was either Rick doubletracked or Dave chiming in. Must investigate......

I've seen it listed that way before, though the PF Encyclopedia doesn't mention anyone else singing on it besides Rick. There is obviously a harmony part on the chorus, mixed rather low, but it is pretty hard to hear who it is.
Just from listening to it, I could guess that it was Rick overdubbing himself, David or Roger. Roger isn't known for harmony singing, and his voice usually stands out enough so that you can identify it, but that part on Stay is so unobtrusive that I could believe that it is Roger, though I don't really know if it is him or not.

Just listened to it again with really good headphones on, and I still can't tell for certain. Part of it is probably down to OBC's unpollished production. If it is indeed Waters, that's very cool......as you said, he's not noted for that type of singing whatsoever!
I've often wondered if the lyrics were cowritten by Wright and Waters. The main verses sound to me like Rick might have penned them, while Roger seems likely to have done the chorus parts. Any idea? ???

No, I don't. I had kind of assumed that Rick had written the music, Roger the lyrics, but you are right that some of the lyrics aren't very Rogerish. It would be really cool if they wrote the lyrics together. I don't know if Floyd ever did that... writing lyrics together, but on some of those earlier albums, it might have happened.
At any rate, OBC was to be the last album that didn't have all the lyrics written by Roger--at the very least, we know that Dave wrote the lyrics for Childhood's End.

Well, looks like "Stay" is winning this time. Any other votes?

I've always thought his voice on 'Matilda Mother' quite ethereal. But I'm going to vote 'Summer 68', it's superb in every way.
