It just occurred to me: for Floyd's one-song performance the other night, Rick Wright was on lead vocals. I hope this doesn't end up being their last performance ever (and I doubt it will be), but it would be interesting if this is how it all ends--with neither David nor Roger singing lead, but rather Rick.

Anyway, after the Live 8 performance, with Rick not even having a mic, and the camera people ignoring him studiously, it's nice to see him back in the spotlight, so to speak.

He does roger and syds voices alot when they arent performing. Since syds dead he will probably be doing his voice often, unless syds faking it.

Who could have predicted that the last ever Floyd song would be Arnold Lane unless they play again which is now even less likely as they have done something for Syd now.

Hmmmmm Syd faking it..............now there is something we all haven't thought about. Maybe, just maybe, and I am clutching at straws here, but maybe Syd has been there all this time over the years and this is just one big farst and he is going to bring Floyd back together once the end of the world has been announced for one last big mind blowing concert. :D

We live in hope. :;):

Post-Waters Floyd anyway. I can't imagine Gilmour wanting much to do with a return to a "Waters-led" Floyd, and frankly I don't blame him.

true but i think this post waters floyd playing was a very good sign. If dave didnt want to play again, he wouldve buried floyd with live 8 because it was so huge. It wouldve been a fit ending, but now they played again, its like when youre ocd and you didnt get a good last ending. Theyre gonna keep doing one off shows im sure. Deep down you can see dave love being up there with those guys.

I also think that Dave's family (and most likely Dave too) attending Roger's show was a good sign. I don't think that there's no hope of either the classic lineup or the post-Waters Floyd reuniting. Still, it would be an odd way to go out if this was the last time! Actually, it would be an interesting way to go out if their last live performance turned out to be a performance of their first single....

I know, Rick should have sang at Live 8! (A shortened Shine On You Crazy Diamond perhaps.)
