You're right, i dont think 'the Wall' or DSOTM would exist, and if they did they would be very, very different. Syd has a very unique style.... it's not replacable. Maybe if syd never left, there would be no Dave which means Roger would still be in PF today, possibly..... this makes me think... 'Your Possible Pasts'.... :( You never really know... so many things are possible, anything could have happened.

I personally think that Syd Barrett is a musical comedian one that is exellant at creating art and deriving comedy from it at the same time he puts laughter into a world that he looks so sadly upon,one that hasnt,cant,and never will understand him syd you poor fellow you are more sane than all of us....

Have you ever wondered if the people who society consinders 'mad' are actually quite sane? It is possible that those who claim to be 'God' are actually a figure of authority of deity in another world? I think this is true.. But I think a lot of things.

You are some of my favorite people but some of you are ignorant....not stupid but ignorant & you need to research Syd a hell of alot more than you have. There are so many THEORIES about what happened to him or why he is the way he is. They basically kicked him out of his old band & they HAD to or they would have disintegrated. I wouldn't want to remember that time too much, or have any good memories about it. I think he was too PURE an artist & when what he was doing was only seen in commercial terms, I think he just let loose with the drugs as his way of coping with it & also as an escape plan. I think he had a MASSIVE nervous breakdown & realized that being a pop star wasn't what he wanted to do. I also think that after 68-69 he got a little better. People still thought he was nuts & I think he played on that w/ the people he knew & eventually they left him alone; the way he always wanted it. Don't try to figure it out....listen to the tunes,Man!!

Have you LISTENED to "Scream" & "Vegetable Man"???? They are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! ahead of its time & are some of Syd's best work. But I would've hated to go through what Syd went through to write those. Release the damn songs already!!! There isn't enough Syd to go around
