i think hes very under-rated i mean sure he has his real easy beats in another brick in the wall and such but since david gilmour and roger waters are the stars in the band you forget to realize how good of a drummer he is and he should be noticed :)

i think he is, he always has amazing beats set out. Also theres that spanish acoustic section of high hopes where hes doing that drum roll which i think is really cool.

plus his drum set-up is wicked in the Pompeii DVD.

I think that Nick is under-rated as a drummer, esspecially if you watch him (on Pompeii) playing A Saucerful Of Secrets that bit when he's playing that drum riff over-and-over.

Although I think Nick is under-rated I think that Garry Wallis is a better drummer.

rocker Rock on Nick!

That's pure crazy talk.

Glad that somebody else mentioned Mitch. He was GREAT, I love his stuff on the experience. I don't know a thing about drumming really, but his stuff just hits at all angles.

Anyways, I wouldn't trade Nick Mason for any other drummer.

Muse Wrote:Floyd's rhythm section was average at best.

Listen to Bill Brufford and you'll agree that Nick ain't so hot.

That's O.K., though, the Floyd was good enough that they didn't need a hard groove.
Well Bill Bruford and Chris Squire made up possibly the best rhythm section ever, they cannot be compared to anyone except for Lee/Peart, Jones/Bonhams, Bruce/Baker, or Entwistle/Moon anyone else they simply destroy

nick is a class drummer. every time i look at pompeii, shivers.... anyway, one drummer i think everyone forgets about is buddy rich. he did things that kids now are only learning. he was a quiet man and knew what he was doing. i know he wasnt in the same vein as rock drummers, but he knew his stuff way before any of them did. he is the elvis of drummers. a true original
