Pretty sure it's 7/4 timing...i.e. the riff/beat counts seven before repeating...so on the seventh hit the bass drum(kick) twice and snare on the second, once repeated...and continue...
sort of like :
1-2-1-2-1-2-1-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-1 etc...(1=bass drum, 2=snare)
They play part of it more "straight" at the "Get a good job with more pay and you're O.K.", "I'm alright Jack, keep your hands off of my stack", "Share it fairly, but don't take a slice of my pie" parts whenever that part of the music comes up. Nick or Gary does a fill there to keep it together. It not reall different rhythmically than the version on Dark Side of The Moon, but emphasizes the shift in rhythm.

yep 7/4 up untill the first gutiar solo where it shifts to 4/4 with a triplet feel, so its argueable that that part is in 12/8
i rememebr roger saying that money was in 7/8 a few times (dsotm dvd and itf extra features) but he is wrong. im near sure i've heared dave say it too, but i would be more surprised about dave getting it wrong.

the time signature for money is 7/4 (x8), 8/4 (x1) 6/4 (x1), and then moves into 4 for the solos and fadeout...there are a couple of ways I would count it, but that's what was transcribed in a score I have from the 70s
...nick mason is a very distinctive drummer; in his book "Inside Out," he mentions that he experimented with his drumming style during the early 70s...
...and to the list of drumming greats, I would add Neil Peart, Wil Calhoun, and Bill Bruford, and even bigger heros await in the jazz world...

Please forgive me i have been living under a rock....i didn't know about this?!?!
Did you also not know about Rick Wright playing with Dave Gilmour? You can see it on the "David Gilmour In Concert" DVD.
So we have 2 halves of PF reunited...now if only those 2 halves can get together!
Um all three nick, rick, and david played on the pulse tour :blues: Its just roger needed to get back in.

In the echoes book it says money starts with 7/4 timing. Then it goes to 4/4 during "New car caviar" lyric set, then it changes to 6/4 when it goes to the "football team", "learjet" part of that lyric set, then it stays in 6/4 during the sax solo. Then when the 244 riff begins it is in 4/4 again for the guitar solo and goes back to 7/4 after the solo. Then finally it at the very end when he says "way" of away it changes to 4/4 and stays like that as it fades out.
