To be completely honest, I bought it half price in the sales just after Christmas and have read very little of it. To big to read on the way to work and I end up otherwise occupied at home. I have a week off at the moment though, so might get some more reading done and that should be near the top of the pile.

Got it for Xmas, polished it off in 2 sittings.
It`s sumptuously produced, so makes for a nice coffee table book.
Nick`s self-deprecating humour & detachment make for a pleasurable read.

BUT, I want a "warts & all" piece. Although you can at times read between the lines, Nick`s diplomatic stance (reflecting his stance in the band) can get a little frustrating.

Close proximity to Rog. & Dave for so many years ("fire" & "ice") should mean a bucket-load of juicy stories. But the pieces often end up (a la Derek Smalls) like "lukewarm water". Ha ha ha

Icy wind of night be gone...this is not your domain

Bought Nick's book about a month ago. I read it in a day and twice since then. It's a really good read and has some great pics in-well produced and well worth the money. I do agree that sometimes he sits on the fence as many Brits of that generation do, but it says on the front A Personal History. I'm waiting for Rog, Dave and Rick's books as they will have the warts and all due to their post-Animals arguments.

I got Nick's book as soon as it was released in America, and it was definently worth every penny spent! rocker The photos alone are amazing and the behind the scene info into the greatest rock band ever are priceless. I would recommend this book to any Floyd fan, especially those who want to get to know the band better.

It took me only a day to read and since then I can't help but go back and look through it over and over. As for a book by Roger, David or Rick-that would be great. Although I wonder how far it would differ, from the way it's written in the postscript it seems that they all put some of their interpretations in. Somehow I could see a book from David or Roger's perspective being a little biased  ,and probably differing from Nick's perspective, turning into a book of the blame game or a showdown as to who's better.

And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Lois don't be alarmed-but I think I'm Jesus
