The dog on the Pompeii film is a French female Afghan hound
(that part of the film was recorded in Paris) by the name of......yes.."Madamoiselle Nobs".

A different dog on the Meddle track "Seamus".
That dog, you`re right, DID belong to Steve Marriott, and the name of his dog...er...yep, you guessed it..."Seamus"!!

Icy wind of night be gone...this is not your domain

Ugh, that dog scares the hell out of me! I love animals, but that dog freaks me out. I think it's partially because of that part of the Live At Pompeii dvd, that when you press the button, the dog comes up on the screen, and it's like there's 2 of them, reflected. You know what I mean? And it's like an eye trick, so that the dog looks like a weird demon or monster. That dog's scary. Seriously, I always skip over Mademoiselle Nobs, partially because I don't like the song, but mostly because of the dog. Oh well, at least I can take solace in the fact that that dog has probably been dead for 25 years....or is he???
