I got Roger Waters In The Flesh - Live a few months ago, and I absolutley love it. It was great to see Roger and some other amazing muscians (Snowy White, Andy Fairweather Low, Jon Carin) play some of the best songs ever. But Doyle Bramhall almost ruined the whole thing in my opinion. His playing is SLOPPY, he doesnt follow the original music what so ever, and he's playing almost all of the lead parts and solos. Snowy is such an amazing guitarist, he should be playing those parts. Anyone else feel the same what I do about this?

Couldnt agree more, he's the most annoying person ive ever seen on a music dvd. He just loves himself clearly. Suprised Roger didnt hire a different guitarist. Other than that the dvd is good, he just lets it down for me. I do really like gilmours dvd however.

I liked his style, but he does go over the top some times. Snowy ****** up Shine On (or was that Doyle?) big time. WHen I went to see Roger, he had a MUCH better guitarist

Yeah it was Snowy. He played the intro the way he wanted to, and that changed it up a bit. The Shine on intro shouldn't be changed, I think. Even after all these years David Gilmour plays it practically the same way he did back in 75'. It's just one of those classics you can't mess with.

i like and respect snowy b/c of his work on the wall in berlin and in some of the members various solo albums.
i couldnt stand doyle. his bad voice. the fact that he looked like a doog whiping his ass on the rug at times. and how he messed up comfortably numb.
if i were roger, id bring back that other guy from the wall in berlin

I think Doyle was fine... sure he has his own style, and I think that is exactly what Roger wanted...Roger is maticulus about the arrangements but obviously has enough respect for Doyle that he allowed him to improvise and I think that it added greatly to the DVD..... I also like Gilmour's DVD very much....

Well first off, nobody is going to be David Gilmour. As a guitarist I've come to realize that regardless of technical ability (and indeed one may be able to play gilmour's work technically note-for-note), nobody can ever capture the same feeling as the original guitarist - and hence will never sound the same. Feel has so much to do with a guitarist's playing that one can never truly imitate someone else's playing. I didn't mind Bramhall on the dvd, largely because he showed feeling. He may not have interpreted the same way you would have preferred, but you could see on his face that he felt what he played, and he emoted through his guitar work. He had feeling in his playing, and in my opinion that is more important than perfectly emulating Gilmour's playing (that being said I definitely thought Snowy was the better of guitarists in the dvd).
Just my thoughts

I did not care for Doyle either. I did not like the tone of his guitar. It was too weak and thin for my taste. I have to disagree he showed feeling. It was too stiff and emotionless. He just seemed to be showboating.
I really enjoy the DVD, but the show could have been even better with just Snowy and Andy. They were awesome.
