Very well said Kimbers!

Of course, there's always the danger of some people crossing the line; but there's nothing wrong with genuine couriosity. Afterall, he did influence a generation of people including myself; We're Human.

I've always felt that he never stopped being the driving force. In fact, that force became even greater after his departure; right up to The Division Bell..........first verse of 'Poles apart' says it all.

yeah i suppose you're right kimbers i just don't want to see some guy pester syd and for him to lash out or attack the fan, this would mean that that said guy could go to the police or the papers, and syd could be thrust into the limelight for all the wrong reasons. on another note how would syd react if say he was walking through the park and someone was listening to piper at the gates of dawn

He did apparently watch the BBC Omnibus special, (also now The Pink Floyd and Syd Barrett DVD), a few years back and said he enjoyed hearing Emily again. I do think that for most of the time though, he would not react or show any emotion to hearing his old works.

What the bloody hell, let's just say he got a nasty case of undifferentiated schizophrenia... brought on by drugs, maybe, or perhaps the climax of a tragic, autistic like(but more likely A.D.D.)sort of an adolesence. What I wanna know, is, was that true about Syd secretly being invited to watch the band put down the tracks of "Shine On You Crazy Diamond"? Or, am I a moron for myths. A shame that he pooped his pants, though... SORRY! But this stuff about being "Gilmore's Queen" is hogwash, and just another sad sign of the gay community trying to claim a famous person as being too backward to "come out." Shine on, ya'll

What?! ???

That last post is riddled with so many inaccuracies, I don't know where to start.

Whoops... then you'd better straighten me out, Ms. Scarlet, bring it on as deep as you like. But, be warned that this :ghostfacegenius and prodgidy stuff wears thin. Tallented, yes, but just as much a 20th Century moron as I was an 19th Century one. I do like Pipers, though, and happy to hear that Syd's influence inspired the Saucer tract on the second album. Now, what about Syd's secret appearance at the Dark Side Of The Moon session when the band was puttin' down the tract for Diamond? I'm here to learn, come on.

Syd had NO involvement whatsoever after Saucerful of Secrets, and very little on that LP...

I think David and Roger both said Syd went through a stage at the end where he was wearing women's clothing and thinking he was gay.
